About Ennis Bus
A free, simple guide to the NS1 and NS2 town buses in Ennis — made to be quick on a phone and easy for everyone to read.
Unofficial
This site is not run by or affiliated with Transport for Ireland (TFI), the National Transport Authority (NTA) or City Direct. For official information and service updates, see TFI Ennis town services and TFI service updates.
How the times work
All times are scheduled times from the official timetable. There is no live bus tracking for the Ennis town routes yet, so buses can run a few minutes early or late. Countdowns are worked out on your phone from the timetable, so they also work without signal once the page has loaded.
On bank holidays the NTA data adds a service with the Sunday journeys. It also leaves the Monday to Saturday service in, which we treat as a duplicate, so we show the Sunday timetable. Christmas arrangements are announced by TFI each December and can differ; we show them here once they are confirmed.
Where TFI has announced stop closures or changes, we show them on the stop and route pages.
Where the data comes from
Timetable data © National Transport Authority, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). It is provided as is; the NTA is not responsible for errors. Source: NTA public transport data. We check for new timetables every day.
We adapt the data for this site: some stop names are tidied (for example “Kildysart Cr” becomes “Kildysart Cross”), stops on both sides of the road are shown together as one stop, and TFI service notices are added.

Maps use OpenFreeMap and MapLibre, with map data © OpenStreetMap contributors and OpenMapTiles. The street maps on stop pages, and the street and place names stop search understands, come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors), available under the Open Database License. Privacy
- Your exact location stays on your phone. “Find my nearest stop” and the journey planner ask your browser for your location only when you tap them, and use it on your device to find nearby stops. We never receive it. If you tap Near me on the map, the map moves to your area, so the map server (OpenFreeMap) receives requests for map images of that area.
- No cookies, no tracking, no ads. Saved and recently viewed stops, your last planned journey and your display settings are kept in your browser's own storage on your device. Clear your browser data to remove them.
- No analytics. We don't collect any statistics about you.
- Maps. The small street map on each stop page is part of the page itself and contacts no one. The Map page, and the zoomable map on a stop page (only when you tap Zoomable map), load map images from OpenFreeMap, which sees your IP address, like any online map.
- Hosting. Like every website, our host processes your IP address to deliver the pages. We don't keep logs of our own.
Use it like an app
Add Ennis Bus to your home screen and it opens like an app, even without signal. Timetables, countdowns, your saved stops and the stop pages you've opened before (with their street maps) work offline; the zoomable street map needs a connection.
- iPhone: in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android: in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
Tap Aa at the top of any page to make the text bigger or switch between light and dark colours.
For businesses near a stop
Print a free A4 poster with a QR code for your window, so customers can check the next bus in one scan: QR posters for every stop.
